This is a continuous set of variations on the famous Ronde tune by sixteenth century composer, Tielman Susato. To add spice, Bedford takes a sequence of chords from Wagner’s opera Tristan und Isolde and allows a slower section to use these chords to provide yet another variation, hence the title.
