This clever fantasia builds on a Burgundian carol, dating back to 1842, that is a melody familiar to holiday concert audiences everywhere. Mr. Del Borgo quietly introduces the theme and then takes it on a roller coaster ride full of twists and turns, with strong percussion support throughout. Compositional devices add continuing interest throughout as the work builds to a dramatic conclusion. It's a perfect holiday concert closer! (2:26)
