Recommended Repertoire for The Scottish Concert Band Festival.
 
This is a great work for band. Playable by very good school bands or county bands upwards. Beautifully atmospheric chorale as a prelude to the Shaker Dance "Tis A Gift to Be Simple" which has real rhythmic energy and vitality.
This work needs a really good musician in the "middle" to pull this work off, however the musical rewards are great !
 
There is a slightly easier version of this work available "Chorale & Shaker Dance II", which has some of the technical demands made of the woodwind section made slightly easier.
