BLOW THE WIND SOUTHERLY - Parts & Score

4 part flexible woodwind ensemble with percussion & piano.
 
STUDIO JUNIOR MUSICPAX
This is a series of easy ensemble pieces designed for use in junior and lower schools to provide material for class use as well as school assemblies and concerts. They are arranged to cater for players of all abilities so that everyone can enjoy and benefit from group playing. Apart from the 1st Descant Recorder and Piano parts, all other instruments are optional so that STUDIO JUNIOR MUSICPAX can be played by any suitable combination.
 
Parts are supplied as follows:
2 x Piano-Conductor
the Piano part is essential.
 
4 x Descant Recorder I
this is the essential melody line which may be augmented by the more experienced flute and violin players.
 
2 x Descant Recorder II
an easier part than above, always in the lower octave, which may also be augmented by flutes and violins.
 
2 x Treble & Tenor Recorders
one part, always in a range playable by both. (In large groups, the majority of players should be allocated to Descant Recorder I and the other two parts equally balanced).
 
2 x Tuned Percussion I
Glockenspiels and/or Xylophones.
 
2 x Tuned Percussion II
Chime Bars - if a number of players are available it may prove advantageous to allocate them one note each. This part may also be used as a very easy Descant Recorder part.
 
2 x Untuned Percussion (i)
2 x Untuned Percussion (ii)
the written parts are very basic and may be augmented or embellished if extra players and instruments are available.
 
2 x Guitar
only chord symbols are used. The part shows only the basic rhythms which may be embellished freely by more advanced players. Chord shapes are given, though younger players may find it easier to use only the top four strings.
o indicates the open string should be played. x indicates the string should not be played.
 
2 x Bb. Clarinet
a simple part, always below the break, which may be played (with discretion!) by Trumpets or Cornets.
 
2 x Violin
a part for beginners using only open strings and the first finger.
